Angela “Angie” Witt began her career as a Trooper with the Virginia State Police in 1993. During her thirty-year career Angie served as a trooper conducting both traffic and criminal investigations, was a member of the Governor’s Protective Detail, and assigned to the training academy.
In 2010, Angie was promoted to Special Agent as a member of the Violent Crimes Unit of the Virginia State Police, Richmond Field Office. In April of 2011, she graduated from the Virginia Forensic Science Academy and serves as a crime scene technician. In 2016, she was chosen to become a Criminal Behavioral Analyst and began training for this position. She received training in all areas of criminal behavior and has participated and lead complex investigations to include serial homicide, stalking, sexual assault, arson, case linkage analysis, and crimes against children. In January of 2021, Angie successfully completed the understudy program for the ICIAF and became certified in criminal investigative analysis.
Angie has been involved in multiple high-profile investigations. This includes being the lead investigator on multiple cases with ties to the Colonial Parkway as well as the lead behavioral consultant to the Colonial Parkway Murders Task Force. She is considered an expert in multiple courts in bloodstain pattern analysis and crime scene reconstruction. Angie is a frequent instructor for multiple agencies providing behavioral and death investigation training throughout the Commonwealth.
Angie attended Longwood University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Walden University where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Education.
